AUTUMN WORKSHOPS
We’re delighted to announce the first series of workshops at PrintBlock Callan within its new home at Workhouse Union. All workshops will be led by artist and designer Liz Nilsson.
Introduction to Screen Printing on fabric: Basic technique and papercut prints from start to finish

10.30 am – 4.30 pm
A full-day workshop to learn the basics of screen printing onto fabric. You will create your own paper-cut motifs and experiment with colour combinations and repeat layouts. Screen printing gives an immediate and tangible result and is fun and rewarding and is a wonderful skill which can be done at your kitchen table. No previous experience needed, just an interest in colour and pattern.
PRICE: €120 Price includes the use of the textile screen printing studio, use of A4 screens and materials to make papercut stencils and a small starter pack of fabric to print on. Pigment dyes are available to participants at an additional low cost.
TO BRING: Please bring your own masking tape, apron, kitchen paper, rags and natural fibre fabric (cotton and linen) to print on. You are welcome to bring your own screens.
With light lunch and refreshments provided.
Space is limited to four participants for each workshop. Early booking is essential.

In this day-long workshop, you will learn how to stretch your own screen, create light-sensitive stencils using a simple photographic technique and use your exposed screen to print simple repeat patterns and experiment with layering colour. On completion of this one day workshop, you can sign-up for Open Access Membership to PrintBlock Callan.

Screen printing is a wonderful skill which can be done on your own kitchen table. A full-day screen printing workshop to learn the basics of screen printing onto fabric – you will create your own paper-cut motifs and experiment with colour combinations and repeat layouts. This interactive workshop will be delivered via Zoom. Prior to the workshop you will be sent instructions on how to set-up your home studio, and will be posted a starter pack with basic materials, including an A4 screen, squeegee and dyes to print with. No previous experience needed, just an interest in colour and pattern.
